New Version ieSpell released

Its been a couple of weeks, but just in case you missed it. A new version of ieSpell was released. A lot of minor changes (code cleanup), minor bugfixes and a new feature

"Look up meaning" feature via right click menu for any word or phrase on the page.

Do you have a BlackBerry or a CrackBerry?

"Keeping employees on electronic leashes such as laptops, BlackBerries and other devices that keep them constantly connected to the office could soon lead to lawsuits by those who grow addicted to the technology, a US academic warns."

Auto-Reboot Remover

Don't you just hate it when this happens?

You have just spent the better part of the day working on your monthly report, and you get called away from your PC for some reason. Only to discover on your return a critical update has been installed and XP decided to close everything without saving and reboot?

Auto-Reboot Remover enables or disables this automatic reboot 'feature' of windows XP SP2 after an update has been installed.

note: the program is listed halfway down in the freeware section.

Maxthon 2.0 - FAQ and Feature overview

Some time ago Neo101 posted some links on his blog to a webpage he made, listing most of the new features including screenshots. So people who don't yet have the Maxthon 2.0 preview can still see what is new in the 2.0 version, and existing Maxthon 2.0 users can check if they've found all the new features.
He also made a little FAQ.

Top 10 IE7 Annoyances

LOL, I just had to post about this, many of you are probably familiar with the name Chris Pirillo. Well, some weeks ago he published a list of top 10 IE7 annoyances. Quite a funny and revealing read, and he makes no secret of the fact he is a Maxthon fan too.

Despite these snags, IE7 is certainly a better Web browser than IE6. I’m not even close to switching from Maxthon 1.x (though I don’t like the way Maxthon 2.x is shaping up).

IE7 Auto-Update Blocker

Those of you worrying about one day waking up to discover their IE6 installation has been replaced by IE7 can rest assured. Apart from offering you three choices in the setup introscreen "Install," "Don't Install" and "Ask Me Later.", Microsoft also released a blocker toolkit for IT administrators.

The Internet Explorer 7 Blocker Toolkit enables IT Administrators to disable automatic delivery of Internet Explorer 7 as a high-priority update via Automatic Updates and the Windows Update and Microsoft Update sites.

The Blocker Toolkit will not prevent users from manually installing Internet Explorer 7

Apple staff fired after Leopard downloads

Talk about crooked logic, this guy obviously doesn't have the faintest clue about right and wrong. In the VNU article this guy was quoted as having said:

"However, the staff member who spoke out questioned Apple's decision. 'My only question is, if we all lied and denied it would we still be working at Apple today? Even more so, is that the kind of person that Apple wants working for them?'"

WTF was he thinking? Sounds like he actually expected to get rewarded for his 'honesty' ??? Apple was only too right in firing these guys, who would want to have a self-confessed rip-off working for him

Del.icio.us Sidebar for Maxthon

Now this is a must-have plugin if you use del.icio.us. This sidebar by neo101 can totally replace the need to keep using the standard favorites bar in both Maxthon 1 and Maxthon 2. It shows all your deli.cio.us bookmarks in a tree structure with the tags forming the folders. It has a quick-add button to add the current page to your del.icio.us bookmarks. Additonally it offers a 'find as you type' option, to quickly zoom in on the favorite you are looking for, similar to the one found in the Favorites sidebar of the Maxthon 2 Preview.

CyberNotes: An Early Look At Maxthon 2

Ryan over at CyberNotes wrote a small first impression about the Maxthon 2 browser with some screenshots. Sadly he had some problems because he could not see the refresh button turning in to a stop button (they are combined) which made him think there was none. But at least he's fair in acknowledging the fact it is still a preview and therefore not yet feature complete.

New Dutch Maxthon Forum

Almost forgot, if there is something worth mentioning than it is this. For those of you Dutch Maxthon lovers out there having problems expressing themselves in a foreign language, you can now all flock together in a new Dutch forum at Smokey's.
Cheers, Smokey ;)

The forum is primarily devoted to security and privacy related topics, but it also hosts a couple of Dutch forum sections, for which yours truly has agreed to act as moderator, to discuss browser and plugin problems

Hurry Up! Go Flock :)
